Based on fragments of old drawings form my past i combined elements of new and old art fragments.

Sometimes you stopped a creative process because you feel, its right to stop and to wait with the theme, the material, or with both of them.

After a while, sometimes a week, sometimes year or more, you return to the fragments and you meet the new view.

Now these pieces are ready for to deliver and ready for to leave the spanish studio.

Give time to the things.

The writer Enrique Perez Escrich was born in Valencia in 1829. When married, he moved to Madrid. He wrote in a traditional, romantic style, but yet he fought against liberalism.

“The theatre and the novel are my galleries”, he said. Having experienced both wealthy and poor times in his life, the author emphasizes the treasure of knowledge passed on from the elderly to the young in his autobiographic novel “The memories of a thin man”.

Today young people of the 15m movement rise in Valencia for their rights, fighting corruption and mismanagement. They demand housing and living space and plant bananas in the ruined buildings of the old town.

I painted these art works on pages of an 1868 edition of Escrich´s novel “El pan de los pobres” and gave 100 originals to these young people in Valencia. Thus the movement gets a “face” and Perez Escrich returns to Valencia after almost 150 years.

The African spring is converting into a European summer and a Central American autumn.

We do not really see what is going on in Central America at the moment. Only private information search on youtube et al. give us a feeling of the real situation.

The amazing citizens are concealed by third parties and are acting behind a wall of spam.

This spam is a tool to overflow your senses.

Discover the story behind it and get the real information.

Share by reflecting. Act in the mirror.

You are the main part of the story.

Whenever humans start to develop their tools, they want to extend the range of their senses. In modern cities you see them outsourcing their thinking to build a new virtual interbrain. Guarding the social networks as their new Tamagotchis the nerds start to transform into real cyborgs.
More and more they feed this interbrain to take space in virtual spheres and evolve their socialisation. They feel complete only with permanent interaction, success by access. The interbrain is always hungry. It wants to upload all the time. Feed to live, live to feed – the boundaries are blurred.
Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and all their schizophrenic virtual brain locations are interacting themselves. I think therefore I am turns to I upload to be.
Not to be online is nearly the private death. This development depersonalizes the public space. The citizen disappears.

When I was a young child I had nightmares about pattern fields. I was frightened about seeing so many and so beautiful pattern fields and I saw clearly, that they did not fit together.

The amazing patterns, the variation of colour and space, the speed, this all was exciting. Only the tragedy that they did not match, frustrated me in those dreams. I remember that I had those dreams a lot of times.

45 years later I look back and realize that these patterns are following me all the time. The good news: now they fit (in my life). So there is a good end to this story. I saw patterns in my dreams, I see patterns all the time in my life and they guard me in my simulation of life.

To see patterns at all, is a gift, a treasure, and sometimes it is hard to see them and to be unable to make them fitting. see you soon reflects this little private history and points out, that we are all part of something big. Look at the patterns. Understand.

Human beeing is still part of nature and whatever political leaders suggest, it is leaded by nature always.

In times of deconstruction (world markets, globalisation, people movement) the world switch from one relative balance in another balance. The natural biologic development in such systems is to do it in a chaotic way always. In these chaotic times of deconstruction people fall-back in archaic behaviour. In times of information overflow they will lost parts of their communication. Non-verbal forms will rise up.

El semaforo de la emocion is a tool to communicate without words. Place it on your desktop. Each piece has two sides, put the i-am-sad-side or the i-am-happy-side in front every day and let the people learn, how you feel a day, non-verbal and very efficient.

In winter 2011 we celebrated Christmas, as part of an exhibition, in the old ermita Sant Sebastia in Cervera del Maestre. We showed a very large combined painting (12 x 0,6 m) and gave each visitor a passe-partout.

Everybody selected his preferred fragment of the painting, put the passe-partout above it and we cut out the part.

More than 200 of these fragments can now be seen in private houses in the village of Cervera. The people were surprised about this performance and felt united by holding their art work as a part of something bigger.

If you hold one fragment of this combined painting in your hand, you are also part of the story and thereby connected with the inhabitants of this village.

Whenever you pass the region of El Maestrazgo you should visit Cervera del Maestre (Castellon) and ask the people about “el cuadro del pueblo”. They will welcome you and show you some

A warrior is dead, if we do not remember him (ancient Indian wisdom).

45 years ago I met my old friend for the first time. He took me home after an accident with my sled in the snow.

25 years ago, after his third deep depression, he asked me to make some paintings for his apartment in Cologne. He insisted that I had to paint only in black and yellow, his favourite colours. As he could not pay for them, I gave them to him as a loan.

15 years later, he fell into a deep depression again and had to give up the apartment. For many years my paintings had been around him; then he gave them all back as agreed.
Three years ago he began to leave home only at night. He was suffering from paranoia. Shortly before Christmas he committed suicide. In memory of my old friend, my paintings and what happened, I painted this art work. It will remind you of this story. So it helps both of us not to forget.

Future generations will consider the fall of the Berlin Wall as the true beginning of a new European migration of the peoples. Europe’s powerful attraction to the world is fed by its attractive social system and its low birth rate.

Europe is becoming a melting pot of a new global future. Driven by cultural and political innovation, people try out new concepts of social life and interaction. From Africa and Asia they pour into Europa and come in as new citizens of this world.

Globalization makes any war a civil war! Whether in Africa, Asia, the Middle East or right at our doorstep on Plaza Cataluña in Barcelona, everywhere amazing young citizens call for equitable access to the world’s resources.

The intelligence of the swarm will indicate the direction and it is always the right one. Let
us listen to the wisdom of the crowds. Now.

You hold one of the 1200 unique art pieces in your hand. It was part of this large installation in a Spanish art museum. Later on i mounted a selection of this pieces in various museums in Germany and Spain. Guard it, show it and become an amazing citizen in civil wars.

OSI – the level of understanding
Series 1 | x / 75 | 2012

The OSI model describes the seven layers of communication. Communication only works, if sender and recipient match in all layers.

From the physical layer (N 1) to the application layer (N 7) all data passes every layer from 7 to 1 on sender side and  from 1 to 7 on recipient side.

In connection with human interfaces we can assume that, based on the physical layer, all layers of this model are unique and hidden in a black box (for both, sender and recipient).

So what did you really receive in this piece of digital art work?
